QDRO Services

Generally, a QDRO, or a Qualified Domestic Relations Order, is an order to distribute part of a retirement plan, such as a pension or 401(k) plan, to someone other than the employee/plan participant. A QDRO must be prepared, approved by the plan administrator, and signed by the judge in a divorce case.

Collaborative Divorce

Collaborative divorce removes disputes from the traditional methods of “fight and win” over to techniques that are designed to “troubleshoot and problem solve.” Couples end their marriage by working with their attorneys and other family specialists, including CDFA professionals and therapists. Its purpose is to avoid the uncertain outcomes of court litigation.

Same-Sex Couples

Marriage equality did not remove all planning barriers for LGBTQ couples.  One of the biggest hurdles couples face in a same-sex divorce is determining when the marriage actually began. The duration of the actual marriage will dictate whether spousal support should be granted and how the couple’s assets will be divided.

  • Is financial uncertainty holding you back from moving forward in your divorce, even though everything else signals it's the right decision?

  • You want to craft a proposal that is equitable and present it to your spouse.

  • You have your settlement offer but you have no idea if it will be enough to live on.

  • You trusted your spouse to handle the money and you have no idea how to evaluate your proposal.
